The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has signed an agreement with the Bank of Punjab (BOP) for fee collection at Facilitation Centers (e-Khidmat Markaz).
Under the MoU, BOP has been appointed as the sole agent of PITB’s e-Khidmat Centers for the collection of the fee for various services. This initiative will facilitate the citizens by providing them a more convenient option for fee submission instead of waiting in long queues. The common public will no longer have to face delays and waste of time on behalf of PITB and Board of Revenue (BOR).
As per the terms and conditions of the agreement, PITB will provide the place and other utility arrangements to BOP at Facilitation Centers while BOP will open collection booth at Facilitation Centers. The collection booths will be equipped with the necessary equipment such as computers, printers, connectivity tools etc.
This will enable the bank to perform collection transaction and to generate a Customized Payment Receipt giving details of the payment as well as customer reference number and other details. BOP will then transfer the fee collections to the relevant head of accounts of the government.
The contract is valid for a period of five years and will be renewed automatically unless terminated.
The Facilitation Centers or e-Khidmat Markaz work to facilitate the public in interacting with various government departments/agencies. The services offered by many federal and provincial level organizations are combined under one roof so that the public at large may get benefit from these centers. These centers are being established in a phased manner in various districts of Punjab. The services include CNIC/NADRA, passport issuance, armed license, birth/death/marriage/divorce registration, fard-issuance record only, domicile, traffic fine collection, issuance of route permit, services provided by local government and district administration, motor vehicle registration and token tax collection services etc.
