Pinterest has introduced a new tool that helps its member to plan parties, projects and other events on its board.
The popular image and idea sharing app announced on 11th July on its blog post that Pinterest is introducing an activity feed for group boards, which acts as a timeline of recent activity like pinned items, likes, and comments. The activity feed helps its users keep track of what is happening on the board including when someone saves a new Pin or adds a new section, makes a new board or when a new member joins.
Previously, users were not notified when a comment was added but now a feature has been introduced that allows leaving a comment without attaching it to a specific pin. With the new tool, the group members can just leave a message in the activity feed to start a chat thread with other members, while others can also respond to the thread. This makes Pinterest boards more useful and easy to start group discussion rather than just producing new ideas.
The feature has been launched for all Pinterest platform including mobile apps and web as well. In March 2018, Pinterest also introduced a feature ‘feed’ which will show recent pins from the people and boards you are following. And the feed will largely be shown in chronological order.
The site launched with a more traditional feed then brought in algorithmic recommendations in order to improve the experience.
