The country’s flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has launched a mobile app that will let its customers book and confirm their seats using their smartphones. The app is only available on the Android platform as of right now and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
The app features a sleek and user-friendly interface. It allows user to perform a number of functions, including booking their flight right from their mobile devices, monitoring their booking status, and checking the status of their flight. It even generates a digital boarding pass for an easier check-in experience.
The app represents a new direction for PIA and highlights the proactive measures being taken by the new leadership in their effort to make the airline a profitable national asset.
The app was developed with the help of Hitit, a prominent Turkish company specializing in providing IT solutions to the airline industry. Hitit has been working with PIA for over a year now, and has helped to steer the company towards revenue generation. In fact, a ceremony was held to commemorate one year of collaboration between the PIA and Hitit.
While addressing the ceremony, the CEO of PIA Arshad Malik congratulated the Hitit team on this milestone and noted that this partnership will help bring Pakistan and Turkey even closer. He also appreciated that Hitit has helped PIA generate significant revenue over the past year. Nur Gokman, CEO of Hitit, also spoke at the ceremony and said the collaboration will go a long way and will bring prosperity to both parties.
