PIA issues warning against carrying Samsung Galaxy Note 7 during travel

After US safety commission issued a press release barring its readers from using their Galaxy Note 7 the other day, PIA seems to have also taken note of the grave situation of a few Note 7 devices spontaneously catching fire during charging or normal usage.

Danyal Gilani, PIA’s official spokesperson and General Manager public affairs, tweeted the advice to all passengers to refrain from carrying Galaxy Note 7 even in their check-in luggage.

This tweet was followed by a press release on the official PIA Facebook page which also strongly advised passengers against keeping a Note 7 with them during travel as it might compromise the safety of other passengers and the plane itself.

Samsung is globally recalling all of the sold Note 7 devices. Until your Note 7 has been replaced or exchanged by Samsung, turning off and not using the device is in the best interest of everyone.
