The latest event that  Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has witnessed is an incredible one that involved Flight PK784 which was bound for Karachi from Toronto and took off three hours earlier than the scheduled time. It departed at 2 hours and 56 minutes to the scheduled time, without any boarding notice at all which left passengers perplexed and abandoned at the airport.

Initial reports of this unusual occurrence surfaced on social media, where most of the readers initially dismissed it as a joke or an internet rumor.

But it was quickly ascertained that the flight took off without any boarding calls, and reached Karachi, half an hour and a half before the scheduled time. This has led to speculation about whether the pilot had another function to attend to.

Some passengers who were left behind reported that they did not receive any information from the airline, no announcements were made, and no prior warnings about the flight’s early departure.

While flight delays are commonly experienced, PIA appears to be setting a new precedent with its approach to scheduling: “On time or three hours ahead of time.” A lot of people are starting to think twice about their travel, wondering whether they should arrive at the airport a day in advance to avoid missing their flights.
