KARACHI: A spokesperson for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has addressed rumors about potential changes to the airline’s iconic logo, clarifying that there are no plans to modify it.
There are currently no plans to change the design of the aircraft or the PIA logo, according to the data confirmed by the spokeswoman. “The logo of the national flag carrier remains unchanged,” the official clarified.
All decisions about design or branding are subject to the approval of the board and relevant ministries, and the planes flown by PIA reflect the national flag, according to the statement.
It was also verified that the tail flag and overall aircraft design have not been changed.
Pakistan International Airlines has named Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat as its acting chief executive officer (CEO). The prime minister has given his approval for the appointment, and formal notice has been sent.
In his previous role as acting CEO of PIA, Khurram Mushtaq had the added responsibility. Officially, Amir Hayat was appointed to the role after the PIA Board of Directors recommended him.
In the past, the national carrier expanded its operational fleet with the addition of another long-grounded ATR aircraft.
The chief executive officer of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has stated that this plane will enhance the airline’s service to Gilgit, Sukkur, Turbat, and Gwadar.
Also, the national carrier has laid out a strategy to expand its fleet size. After the European Union Aviation Safety Agency lifted its restrictions, the spokeswoman said, PIA will increase the size of its fleet.
The representative went on to say that there will be two more ATR planes added to the fleet and that the number of Airbus A320s will rise to twelve. As part of its ambitious operational plan for 2025, PIA is upgrading its fleet.
PIA is working tirelessly to open new international routes, increase its network, and give Pakistanis living abroad more affordable travel options. One of the nation’s highest on-time performance rates, the airline has surpassed 90%.
