Phase 2 Of Honhar Scholarship Program Officially Launched

The Honhar Scholarship Program Phase II, inaugurated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif of Punjab, will fund the education of thirty thousand students yearly for the next four years.

Chief Minister’s Vision for the Program

“This program allows talented students to pursue higher education at premier institutions without financial worries,” the chief minister said at an event at FAST National University of Computer and Engineering Sciences, Islamabad. Students who prove themselves worthy will have their tuition paid for in full by the Punjab government as part of this program.

Students from 359 colleges in Punjab, 12 schools of dentistry and medicine, and 65 universities are receiving the scholarships, she said. The program provides financial aid to students under the age of 22 from Punjab domicile whose parents’ monthly income is less than Rs300,000. Eligible subjects of study include 68 different groups.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stressed how transparent the program was by saying that applications were handled through an online site. The review was carried out by a steering group headed by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and was supervised by additional committees at the institutional and provincial levels.

Program Achievements and Milestones

Among the program’s notable achievements, she cited the first ceremony at the University of Punjab, where 2,473 students were given scholarships, and the second event at FAST University Islamabad, where 2,570 students from the Rawalpindi division were given scholarships.

A total of 1,886 UET Lahore students were granted scholarships, as pointed out by the chief minister. A total of 1,660 scholarships were awarded to students attending public universities, while 637 were provided to students attending private universities.
