The battle between PewDiePie and T-Series for the number 1 YouTuber title has gone in the former’s way as multiple celebrities such as Logan Paul and Mr. Beast have started campaigning for him. As of right now, T-Series has 81,604,570 subscribers on YouTube whereas PewDiePie has 81,709,950 subscribers and how did that happen? Between the months of September and December, PewDiePie has added over 13 million subscribers in comparison to 7 million which was added to his fanbase in the entire year of 2017.
So how did it all start? PewDiePie has called for support from all his followers in the video below:
In the video, you can see Felix Kjellberg challenging T-Series to “a sabre fight”, saying: ‘No more lame boxing matches, I challenge T-Series to a sabre fight, like real men’. T-Series had around 66 million subscribers back in August and it was very near to dethroning PewDiePie from being the number 1 YouTuber. However, Felix’s call to action worked like a charm and many of his followers started campaigning for him, some even going as far as to hack Chromcast devices to promote his channel.
The most astounding fact is that PewDiePie added over 6.62 million new subscribers in December alone, which is again very near to the number of subscribers he gained in the entire year of 2017.
Do you think PewDiePie will be able to retain his lead over T-Series?
