Patari joins Facebook Music Stories program

The Pakistani music streaming platform Patari is participating in Facebook’s Music Stories program that will let Patari share audio tracks on Facebook. The music tracks shared on the social media platform will be played directly on Facebook without the hassle of going to original website for listening.

All type of media including albums as well as songs, shared on Facebook through Patari will form Music Stories, a format that will allow users to listen to shared song from the Facebook application as well as the website. Users can later head to the website of Patari and listen to the full song.

Khalid Bajwa, the CEO Patari, said that,

“This collaboration marks a watershed moment for the local music industry, and especially for Patari. Our participation in this product is proof that it is possible to set up a sustainable platform for Pakistani music, that can have a global reach.”

Patari’s Director of Content, Ahmer Naqvi added that,“the collaboration with Facebook is a fantastic way for our users to access our vast database of Pakistani music, and further enrich the social and cultural value of one of Pakistan’s most vibrant art forms.”

Facebook had launched the initiative, Music Stories, late in 2015, initially working with streaming sites such as Spotify and iTunes. Patari revealed that the analytics from across the world have repeatedly shown the high retention rates for the media which can be played within Facebook. It means that the introduction of a feature like Music Stories means a much higher engagement from users with music.

Patari was launched in 2015. It is available on web and mobile platforms including iOS and Android boasting over a hundred thousand monthly active users and recently, grabbed second position at the World Startup Cup 2016.
