Google has launched an Online Marketing Challenge 2015 for students to lead online marketing campaigns using Google Adwords and Google+. The successful completion of the challenge can win you exciting prizes including trip to Google offices. This opportunity has been availed by above 80,000 students and professors from almost 100 countries over the past 7 years.
The participant team will develop and run an online advertising campaign for a business or non-profit organization with a $250 Adwords advertising budget provided by Google. The teams will have to identify a potential client business or non-profit organization for which they need to advertise. The campaign will run for a three week period after which the progress of teams will be evaluated based on the post-campaign report submission.
The team should consist of three to six student members from undergraduate or graduate program regardless of their major. The team registration must be carried out under a verified faculty member, lecturer or instructor who is currently employed by an accredited higher education institute.
Students can also participate in an optional Google+ Social Media Marketing category. In this category, they will need to create and manage a Google+ Page for their clients over a five week period.
The competition is open to students in America, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific which includes India and Pakistan too. There are five prizes to be awarded for the challenge; one for global winner and four for regional winners.
The global winner will be awarded with a seven-night trip to San-Francisco and one day trip to Google Head Quarters while regional winners will receive a two-night trip to regional Google offices. In addition to this, the winning teams will secure $5,000 to $15,000 donations for their non-profit partner. Each student from the winning teams will get computing devices and other prizes as well.
