Pakistan’s Youngest Tech Talent Arfa Karim Remembered on Her 13th Death Anniversary

The 13th death anniversary of Arfa Karim Randhawa, who made history as the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional, was observed on Tuesday.

Arfa Karim, born on February 2, 1995, in a modest village near Faisalabad, garnered significant attention in the technology sector by successfully passing the Microsoft Certified Professional examination at the remarkably young age of nine in 2004.

At the age of ten, she received an invitation from Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, to visit the company’s headquarters in the United States. Throughout her life, she was the recipient of numerous awards and international accolades, acknowledging her exceptional talent in the realm of Information Technology (IT).

In 2005, the government honored her with the Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal for her outstanding contributions to Science and Technology. In that same year, she was honored with the Salaam Pakistan Youth Award.

Arfa Karim received the Pride of Performance award as well. On December 22, 2011, Arfa experienced an epileptic seizure and tragically passed away in a coma on January 14, 2012.

In addition to her passion for science and technology, Arfa Karim had a keen interest in poetry. The legacy of Arfa Karim, a remarkable individual with extraordinary mental capabilities, continues to resonate today.
