According to today’s announcement from the Free Fire Esports Instagram account, RZX Esports, the only Pakistani team competing at the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2024 Global Finals in Brazil, will not be able to attend the event because of visa complications.
Due to the large number of Free Fire gamers in the area, this is extremely disheartening for Garena. The RZX Esports team made it to the finals by navigating the FFWS Pakistan’s lengthy qualifying process, which began with open qualifications and continued through playoffs, the group stage, and the grand finals. Consequently, it is quite disappointing not to be able to participate in the Free Fire World Series (FFWS).
As much as their absence has disappointed the team and their fans, Free Fire creator Garena has assured everyone that RZX Esports will still be awarded the reward for 18th place.
With a total prize pool of $1 million, the competition offers a substantial sum to the 18th-place team— $15,000. Despite Pakistan’s history of underperformance in Free Fire esports, the veteran team from RZX Esports was hoping to change that this year.
Garena stated, “RZX ESPORTS has been the spotlight for Pakistan, writing their story with each Booyah they claimed. We look forward to future encounters and hope to see them shine again soon.”
There will be no more additions to the field as the finals near; so, seventeen teams will compete in Rio de Janeiro from 8th November to the 24th. This year’s venue brings back fond memories for Free Fire supporters, as it’s the tournament’s return to Rio after a five-year absence. With teams competing in a very interesting way, the FFWS 2024 is sure to captivate people all over the world, even though the lineup is smaller.
Fans can’t wait for this year’s finals to begin in the hopes that Pakistan’s RZX Esports will make another grand entrance into the Free Fire stage.
