Sheops, a peer-to-peer online marketplace for women that was part of the first cohort of technology businesses to graduate out of The Nest i/o, P@SHA’s Tech Incubator, has signed a deal to become part of Arpatech Technology Ventures.
The investment deal was signed between Founder and CEO of Sheops, Nadia Patel Gangjee and the Founder of Arpatech, Jamal Khan. Jehan Ara, President of P@SHA and Big Bird of The Nest i/o, was also present at the signing ceremony.
Sheops is a marketplace and online community for women that enables them to buy, sell and make friends online on a secure, women-only platform. Nadia has been running Sheops as a Facebook Group for around 2 years now, and the group has over 13,000 members and a massive fan following on Facebook.
The platform allows women pursuing a business initiative to get recognition and clients while sitting at home and also allows ladies to sell things lying around their home thus turning items lying in their closet into cash.
Sheops is now about to be launched as a secure online website for women only, which will make it easier for sellers and buyers to connect with the right audience without compromising on their security.
According to Jehan Ara of The Nest i/o,
“This is a proud moment for us at The Nest i/o as our startups are getting the recognition and success they truly deserve.”
She went on to say,
“We induct only the best tech startups with the most potential and this investment deal between Nadia and Arpatech is a prime example of how far these startups can go when they work hard and are guided by the best mentors and experts in the industry.“
Arpatech Technology Ventures is home to some of the best e-commerce businesses making waves in the industry, including EatOye! that was later acquired by Foodpanda, Forrun and Tazamart. Under Arpatech and Jamal’s guidance, Sheops is all set to expand and reach out to more women entrepreneurs and home based sellers looking for a secure platform to launch their services.
