Pakistani politician confuses GTA game’s video for real-life footage, praises pilot’s skill

The Secretary-General of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Khurram Nawaz Gandapur recently shared a video of a popular video game Grand Theft Auto (GTA V), on his Twitter account displaying a plane on the runway narrowly escaping a collision with an oil tanker. Assuming it to be a true event the politician praised the pilot’s skills and his excellent state of mind as he avoided the crash between the plane and the oil tanker.

He wrote, “Narrow escape of an aircraft which could have ended in a great disaster. Miraculous save by the pilot’s presence of mind”.

The video clip posted in the tweet was originally shared on Youtube, and it can be clearly seen that the footage is a simulation. Gandapur’s tweet received a major criticism by the Twitterati for not being aware that the video shared is a simulation and not a real-life video.

On the other hand, there are many viewers on YouTube as well who were not able to differentiate between reality and simulation when they watched the footage of the video game. This also shows the extent to which modern computer graphics have reached.

But this also serves as a lesson that people before posting anything on social media should verify the authenticity of the video or any news on the internet.

You can watch the original video through here as well.
