Girlythings, an application which provides sanitary napkins and urgent menstrual kits to women has won the World Summit Award 2019 in ‘Health and Well-being’ category. The summit which was held in Portugal this year is a unique award system which aims to boost local digital innovation to improve society.
Menstruation is a taboo in Pakistan and owing to social, cultural stigma, women and young girls do not have the confidence to open up and share their challenges and subsequently deal with them.
