Pakistani Education Startup, mySmacEd, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding with a valuation of USD 2 million dollars. SmacEd is an education-based platform for schools for bridging the gap between teachers and parents. Through the platform, parents will be able to keep track of the progress of their children by following real-time updates on their mobile phones. Whereas, teachers and school administration will be able to keep the parents in loop without any hassle.
SmacEd is currently targetting Middle East region for getting traction. The startup charges a certain amount of fixed fee per student based on its subscription-based model. So far, mySmacEd has 11 schools as its clients which it claims that four of these schools belong to middle eastern countries. Founder, Arusha Imtiaz, believes that Plan9 has helped them a lot in launching their startup which otherwise would have been delayed.
