Earlier today social media went into a complete frenzy after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family became embroiled in another controversy surrounding the Panama Leaks. According to a statement from JIT, the documents which Maryam Nawaz Sharif had presented for investigation were photocopies of the doctored version of the original document. This was caught after a lab expert from the UK pointed out that the document was written in the Calibri font which was not available in 2006 when the document presented by Maryam Nawaz was actually signed.
Now just a couple of hours after the news became mainstream, people are now changing the release date of the Calibri font by going on its Wikipedia page.
However, after multiple people tried to update the Wikipedia page in a span of few hours, it has now been protected from further editing till 18th July, 2017.
Maryam Nawaz is the most recent person of the Sharif family to become engulfed in a scandal related to Panama Leaks. Last week she was summoned by the JIT after her possible ownership of overseas properties was called into question. She alleged that Hussain and Maryam Nawaz apparently signed a deed on February 4, 2006 according to which Maryam was declared as a trustee of the Avenfield property. However, it has now come to light that the document presented as evidence on that front was forged and that Maryam Nawaz may not have been completely honest.
However, she took to social media to reject JIT’s report.
Following this controversy Twitter has become abuzz with hilarious reactions from the Pakistani people.
However, some people completely refused to accept the JIT report.
