Team Mechanical from NED University emerged second in a pool of 970 teams hailing from 27 universities world wide at the international ‘exploration & production’ dedicated talent acquisition program UPPP by the renowned MOL group.
UPPP is an online student competition that requires students to solve exploration problems, and perform field development and production related tasks. The best teams got the opportunity to take part in the live final. The selected teams were participating from universities of Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kurdistan, Oman, Poland, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and UK. The shortlisted universities from Pakistan included UET Lahore, NUST, NED University and GIK Institute.

Team Mechanical from NED University of Engineering and Technology were connected through Skype for the final event. They duly participated in the Base Camp set up for the top 10 teams and also presented their case in front of the jury from halfway round the world. The names of the students are as follows: Saad Ahmed, Maaz-ul-Haq and Muhammad Adeel Baig and they are all final year students of the Mechanical Engineering Department of NED University of Engineering and Technology. The credo of their whole team for this competition was “Rise Early, Work Late, Strike Oil.”
