To ensure speedy communication in society through post service, Pakistan post has taken revolutionary steps to adopt modern technology in its working to improve efficiency and expand its network across the globe.

The spokesperson of Pakistan Post Zakirullah, while talking to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) said that we have taken comprehensive measure to develop a better image of its services among the public by making sure that we make timely deliveries of money, mail, and other articles.

He stated that the projects like Electronic Money Order (EMO), same-day delivery services and e-commerce initiatives produced sound results and received amazing feedback from the public. Through the EMO service, consumers can send up to 50,000 rupees, and to further ensure ease for its customers Pakistan Post started to offer this service at all General Post Offices as a window service as well. He also pointed out that, “Affordability is also a cornerstone of its policy due to the growing competitiveness in the postal market”.

Zakirullah said, “If a consumer transfers money through a mobile company they charge him/her Rs. 2500 for the transfer Rs 25,000, while Pakistan Post only charges Rs. 550 for the transfer of Rs. 50,000”.

He further said that the need of e-governance in the postal services was increasing due to the changing trends in the communications market, and Murad Saeed, the Federal Minister for Postal Services was the first minister ever to suggest the integration of this system in the Pakistan Post.

The spokesperson said that recently, Pakistan Post signed an agreement with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for the renewal or modification of CNIC through their post offices, and, “This pilot project was launched in 10 Post Offices and it will soon be extended to 100 Post Offices.” They also signed an agreement for the expansion of franchise Post Offices which will further help the Pakistan Post to offer its services through 15,000 NADRA offices in Pakistan.
