In the 16th annual iteration of Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) which were conducted in Taipei (Taiwan) just recently, the results have appeared to be greatly in favor of Pakistan. The Pakistani delegate has bagged 3 Gold Medals and 6 Silver Medals, P@SHA has announced.
Among the winners included a team from NUST which won Gold in Tertiary Student Projects for their project “Clinical Decision Support System for Diagnosis of Movement Disorders”.WonderTree won the Gold for Inclusion and Community and Nadia of Sheops won merit in Inclusion & Community.
Another team from NUST also bagged a gold award, for its project, “Analysis of Optical Coherence Tomography Image for CDSS”. Last year, Pakistan was able to grab 3 Golds and 1 Silver at Asia Pacific ICT Awards. UBL Fund Managers, Mandi Express, Sionser, Trillium Information Systems, Amin Farid, and Sheops were the ones who were able to grab Silver this year.
This year different delegates from 17 countries including Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, and Nepal also joined in the contest. The event also promotes multi-lateral economic and trade ties, by offering business opportunities to the indigenous minds.
To represent Pakistan, this year a delegation of 41 people was taken to the international arena set in Taipei by Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA). The team included the entities who were declared winners or runners up at the P@SHA ICT Awards 2016.
APICTA is an international Awards Program to hone the ICT works of brilliant minds, APICTA awards program is being conducted annually since 2001. Along with providing valuable recognition to the products, APICTA also provides an opportunity to network with the like-minded people as delegates from countries across the Asia-Pacific region take part in the competition.
