Pakistan Citizen Portal has resolved over 380,000 public complaints, claims Iftikhar Durrani

Prime Minister’s special assistant Iftikhar Durrani says that Pakistan Citizen Portal has resolved over 380,000 public complaints out of 539,000 received, ever since it was established. He said that the public is showing faith in this portal.

Iftikhar Durrani, while addressing to a news conference in Islamabad on Monday said, that this Complaint Resolution System was started with the objective to keep check and balance and to give this message that the public sector departments are answerable to the general public and that we are making improvements in the system to make sure that it delivers to the expectations of the public.

He further added, the faith of the general public in this portal can be observed from the fact that almost 829,494 people have downloaded the portal so far on their cellular devices.

While briefing the media about the workings of the portal, the PM’s assistant said, around 70,000 complaints were dropped because of various reasons. He said that the complaints that were subjudice or related to political, family and national security matters were not entertained.

According to a meeting held at the commissioner office, most of the complaints were related to police, health education departments, local governments, and the FBR department.

The government of Pakistan launched Pakistan Citizen Portal app on October 28, to receive complaints of the general public regarding the workings of public departments in Pakistan. The app received a rating of 4.5 and stood at seventh highest number in Google’s search category and also received a title of second best government application from around the globe. But according to many users, there are still some structural and managerial issues in the app which still require fixing.
