Pak COAS Stresses the Need to Guard Digital Borders

ISLAMABAD: Speaking to the business community in Karachi, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir expressed his strong belief in Pakistan’s bright and secure future.

In his assessment of the country’s development, he made the comment, “The clouds of despair that loomed a year ago have now dissipated.”

Reiterating his prior statement, the Army Chief underscored the need for optimism, saying: “Despair is forbidden for Muslims.” All of Pakistan’s major economic indicators have turned positive recently, he said, and he expects them to continue rising next year.

Speaking out against those who were pessimistic and made assumptions about Pakistan’s default, he asked, “Where are those voices now?” Is it not fair that they face consequences?

The Army Chief addressed security concerns by noting that terrorists frequently have the support of illicit companies and other outside forces. He reiterated the government’s resolve to protect Pakistan’s digital frontiers and the safety of its residents online.
