Openai Considers Powering Galaxy Ai With Chatgpt For Future Samsung Phones

OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, is reportedly in discussions with Samsung to integrate its artificial intelligence technology into the Galaxy AI suite, which powers features on Samsung’s mobile devices. Galaxy AI makes use of large language models (LLMs) and other technologies created by Samsung and supplied by partners, such as Google’s Gemini models.

Samsung, the world’s biggest mobile device maker, distributes hundreds of millions of handsets each year. A prospective agreement with OpenAI might give its AI technology a strong presence in this large sector.

Samsung is currently in the process of enabling Galaxy AI on more than 200 million devices this year, and it has already been integrated into millions of devices. In just a few years, Galaxy AI-powered devices could reach one billion units, if this growth trajectory continues.

Considering this, OpenAI is investigating the possibility of utilizing its ChatGPT technology to enable certain AI features of Samsung to enter this ecosystem. This action would be in direct competition with the AI-powered by Gemini, which is developed by Google.

This prospective partnership with Samsung would be similar to OpenAI’s relationship with Apple, in which its technology is employed to improve the intelligence features of iPhones. A significant transformation in Samsung’s AI strategy would be achieved if an agreement is reached between Samsung and OpenAI.

Samsung has consistently depended on its partnership with Google to provide AI features, such as those that will be included in its forthcoming AR smart spectacles. A redefined approach to AI on Samsung devices could result if the collaboration with OpenAI is realized.

Samsung has been the subject of OpenAI’s pursuit for a more extensive commercial partnership. CEO Sam Altman visited Samsung’s semiconductor facility earlier this year to explore prospective collaborations on AI processors.

This partnership could be exploited by the two companies to incorporate OpenAI’s technology into Samsung’s mobile devices, thereby providing access to an enormous user base. This would establish OpenAI as a direct competitor to Google in the AI and mobile space, which would have significant implications for the future of AI-powered mobile technology.
