OPEN Islamabad event to be held this weekend; We are giving away 10 Free Passes

The OPEN Annual Forum 2015 is going to be held on the 19th of December in the capital city of Islamabad. This year, the event is themed as “Apna Maqam Paida Kar”. With the traditional speaker sessions and discussions, we are expecting a few key announcements as well.

OPEN organizes this forum every year to give a recap of all activities of its local chapters. Last year, OPEN gave the stage to 12 young entrepreneurs – who shared their journeys, struggles and challenges. While this year, the speakers and organizations are specifically the ones who have achieved remarkable growth and success in their respective fields. Through this line-up, OPEN is targeting startups who have achieved substantial growth, are in mid-tier but might be facing challenges in scaling their projects.

If the rumors are to be believed, OPEN is working on an Investment Fund and they might be making this official at this event. Since entrepreneurs, CEOs, Innovators, Policy Makers and officials from Government, Development and Academic sectors will be joining this meetup. It will be a great opportunity for OPEN to go ahead and share some of the details of the fund.

On the other hand, Telenor is also expected to talk about their upcoming Acceleration Program for startups in Pakistan. Telenor, along with Sybrid, is one of the major sponsors of this event. Irfan Wahab, Deputy CEO of Telenor, will be speaking at the event and we can expect him to share some insights on their upcoming program.

Scheduled for the upcoming Saturday, the venue for the event is Cafe 1969. OPEN itself has hinted about a couple of big announcements, one being the possible development of an Internet Of Things incubation center or facility in Islamabad to boost innovation within the country, while they didn’t deny or confirm the Open investment fund’s official launch at the event.

This mega-event is expected to host around 500-600 people this year, including entrepreneurs, professionals as well as university students.
