OnePlus has finally revealed the highly-anticipated the all-screen 90Hz (display) OnePlus 7 Pro at a surprisingly good price of $669, much cheaper than Samsung’s Galaxy S10e ($750) and Apple’s iPhone XR ($750).
While the OnePlus 7 Pro will be readily available in US markets and throughout the world, the simple OnePlus 7, however, will be launched a week later and will only be available in selected markets. Right of the box, the OnePlus 7 pro comes with a transparent phone case, 30 Watt charger which is 30% faster than the previous fast charger and relevant dongles. The OnePlus 7 Pro comes in three variants, 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage or 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage or 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage, all of the variants come with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 855. Furthermore, OnePlus 7 Pro also becomes the first phone to have UFS 3.0 which provides crazy fast internal read and write speed compared to UFS 2.1.

Stunning Display
Perhaps the biggest and most anticipated feature of this phone has been its 6.7-inch stunning 90Hz display. It should be noted that this is the first 90Hz OLED display in the smartphone industry. The phone has no notch and is bezel-less thanks to the motorized pop-up selfie camera. The stunning full-screen display provides a definite upgrade over the regular and industry norm 60 Hz display with more fluid user experience and better touch latency without implementing sluggish animations.
The OnePlus Pro’s screen refreshes at a rate of 90 times per second which is a full 50% faster than most of the other smartphones. However, the display only supports HDR10 and HDR10+ and not Dolby Vision. Finally, underneath this stunning screen is all new in-display fingerprint sensor which according to OnePlus is twice as fast as the one in OnePlus 6T.
A new triple-lens camera set-up
The all-new triple lens set-up in the OnePlus 7 Pro includes a 48MP main sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera. By default settings, the phone captures 12-megapixel images utilizing the data from four pixels to create one large pixel. This is practically the same method that all other companies are using including Apple.
According to OnePlus, it has incorporated a new system in its smartphone camera system which uses three different focusing systems (phase-detect AF, contrast AF, and laser focusing) to improve focusing performance in both good and poor lighting conditions. As far as the video quality is concerned, OnePlus 7 Pro records 4K footage up to 60 frames per second and slow motion 1080p footage at up to 240 frames per second.

While OnePlus phones always feature top of the line specs, the two important features that are pre-requisite of a modern-day flagship are still missing from even the most expensive OnePlus phone and those are wireless charging and an IP-certified water-resistant rating. OnePlus, however, on many occasions has assured its users that all of the OnePlus phones are resistant and the only reason that their phones are not IP certified is that it costs extra money which in turn will increase the net price of the OnePlus phones.
Upon comparing this phone with other phones at the same price tag, you’ll not find much competition as it completely decimates its competitors with stunning hardware quality and top of the line specifications at a decent price tag.
