According to the latest DXOMARK camera rating, OnePlus 7 Pro has the second best smartphone camera only behind Galaxy S10 5G and Huawei P30 Pro. This is by far the highest camera rating ever achieved by a OnePlus device.
DXOMARK gave OnePlus 7 Pro’s rear camera a score of 111 while the front camera received a score of 86. Traditionally OnePlus is known for launching great phones with the best value for money, however, the camera department is one area where OnePlus has never been able to compete with the likes of iPhones, Galaxy phones and Pixel phones. However, the recent attempts by OnePlus and the DXOMARK rating show that the company is now making legitimate attempts to truly compete at the flagship level.
The OnePlus Pro captures accurate target exposures with a wide dynamic range. It has fast and accurate autofocus with well-preserved detail in all conditions and lighting. Furthermore, the pictures have good detail in medium and long-range zoom shots along with accurate exposure. Thanks to the extra lens at the back, OnePlus 7 Pro takes effective in-depth estimation and nice bokeh effect in Portrait mode.
Similar to photos, the OnePlus Pro also performs well in the video department. The videos recorded are well-preserved in detail in all conditions along with accurate target exposure. White balance is mostly accurate with good fast autofocus response and decent stabilization.
Achieving such high DXOMARK means that OnePlus has now officially joined the pantheon of flagship phones. With overcoming champion smartphones like Galaxy S10 Plus, iPhone XS Max, Mate 20 Pro and Pixel 3, OnePlus has proven once again that you can achieve a lot more by spending a lot less.
