OnePlus 5T is officially coming on November 16. There are a lot of rumors and speculations going on about the phone. First, it was rumored that the OnePlus 5T will have exactly same price as of OnePlus 5 but again, those were only rumors. But some people were speculating that it will have a higher price than the OnePlus 5 because OnePlus 3T was also priced $40 higher than the OnePlus 3.
Well, now it seems like that OnePlus 5T will actually cost slightly more than the OnePlus 5. Pete Lau, the company’s CEO, tweeted about the new phone and the tweet hints about the higher price of OnePlus 5T. Pete says that people will appreciate whats coming. Here’s the tweet:
The CEO already said a few days ago that OnePlus 5T will cost under $600 so one thing is confirmed that no variant of new device will cost more than $600 which is still a good deal keeping the current smartphone prices in mind. CEO also announced that OnePlus 5T will not support wireless charging which seems old school as most of the flagship phones support wireless charging nowadays but Mr. Lau has an explanation for this.
According to OnePlus, their Dash Charging is better as it delivers more power in a lot lesser time. Wireless charging delivers low power and in result, the device takes longer to charge. Moreover, he mentioned that users cannot pick up their phone to play a game or make a call during wireless charging so the current standard of wireless charging “brings more limitations than freedom”. And I think he is right, I’ve used the Dash Charging myself and it is amazing without any doubt. No matter if you play a game during Dash Charging, the phone will remain cool and charge time will not be affected.
OnePlus 5T will be announced on November 16 at an event in New York.
