Update:
OnePlus has confirmed that that the invite was not genuine. So the phone is not coming on November 5.
Original Story:
Earlier this month, it was rumored that OnePlus 5T will not be coming this year. But later on, a new report suggested that the device is not canceled and will come in November.
Now it seems like the 2nd rumor is correct as the company has sent out invitations for a November 5 event and the invitation includes an image which contains a T in it. The event is set to be held in China and it is reasonable to say that the company will be releasing OnePlus 5T in the event. Moreover, the OnePlus 5 has gone out of stock which further supports the evidence that the company will be unveiling OnePlus 5T on December 5 event.
On the specifications side, there is not much known about the OnePlus 5T, except the speculation that it will come with a bigger, 6-inch display.
However, there was no difference in screen sizes of last year’s OnePlus 3 and 3T. The major difference those phones had the front camera sensor and battery capacity. The company managed to put a bigger battery and better camera in a phone by keeping the dimensions and weight of the device same. Moreover, the 3T came with the Snapdragon 821, a slightly better version of the Snapdragon 820, featured in OnePlus 3.
So if the company goes with the same strategy, the OnePlus 5T will come with Snapdragon 835 (as there is no Snapdragon 836 this year). There’ll be a dual camera on the back and it is possible for the company to add dual cameras on the front as well, making it one of the few quad camera phones available in the market. And of course, it will come with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and will receive updates for at least 2 years.
