OnePlus 2 will not get Android Nougat

There had been several rumors on the rise that OnePlus 2 will not get the latest Android update Nougat. The rumors were put to rest by the company today when it announced that OnePlus 2 indeed will not get the latest Android Nougat update.

The news broke when a OnePlus 2 user posted his conversation with the OnePlus customer services representative. The representative outright confirmed that OnePlus 2 will not be getting any kind of update whatsoever.

The representative, according to the posted transcript, said, “As much as we would like to give the latest update on the OnePlus 2, we’ve discontinued updates for dated devices.”

It is to be noted here that the company had previously said that its smartphones OnePlus 3 and 3T would get Android O update and OnePlus 2 will get Android Nougat. Apparently, OnePlus 2 is not keeping its own words and has backtracked from its official statement.

Regarding OnePlus3 and 3T, CEO of OnePlus Pete Lau had tweeted, “A lot of you have been asking, so I’m proud to say Android O will come to OnePlus 3 and 3T”,

Although, the tweet didn’t reveal when OnePlus 3 and 3T would get Android O update.

Moreover, the company is planning to launch its new OnePlus 5 later this summer.
