Official: OnePlus 5 will be like iPhone 7 Plus

OnePlus has finally made the OnePlus 5 design official through an update regarding the release date of this new flagship. And as the rumors had been suggesting, the new OnePlus 5, indeed, looks ridiculously similar to the iPhone 7 Plus.

Internet users are calling OnePlus 5 as the Android sibling of iPhone 7 Plus. iPhone 7 Plus, launched last year, had a visually pleasing design. The design made the whole experience of using iPhone 7 Plus a treat. Now it seems like OnePlus, instead of investing in its own R&D, has learned from Apple and taken visual cues from the Cupertino technology company.

The phone is set to release on June 20. With the image ending the rumor mill, some of the features of OnePlus 5 are also official now. The phone will have a dual 12MP camera, 8GB RAM, Fingerprint scanner. It will run on Android Nougat.

The device will be unveiled simultaneously in major cities: New York, Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Tampere, Oulu, and Turku.

It is yet to be seen how Apple will respond to these design similarities. Apple has been notorious for doing legal battles with competitors owing to design and software similarities. Things will become more clear after the launch of OnePlus 5.

In the price department, OnePlus 5 will be a bit expensive than its predecessors but still, the price will be lower from Apple’s iPhones. But nothing sure can be said about the exact price of the phone. For that, we will have to wait until the 20th June.
