NUST students develop a platform to analyze the spread of COVID-19 in Pakistan

As the number of cases of Coronavirus increase in Pakistan, student teams from many universities are working on projects to predict the spread of the virus, spread awareness, or make it easy for the masses to seek medical help. NUST has been a major name in these initiatives. Recently, a team of students from NUST has developed a tool to collect regional data of Coronavirus cases and people’s response to the virus all over Pakistan. Click here to access the form.

The data collected from the site will help analyze the potential spread and management assessment of Coronavirus within Pakistan. It will also help the NIH, higher authorities, and concerned departments in identifying regions where the probability of COVID-19 spread is higher from data analytics on obtained data so that appropriate steps can be taken based on factual data.

The team has also developed a dashboard to display the real-time data of confirmed, recovered, and death cases due to the pandemic. You can also see global data on the spread of the virus. The dashboard also gives you the ability to view the number of cases in different cities, a saturation of cases in different cities of Pakistan, and a sheet showing the effect of traveling abroad on the spread of the virus. You can also find the symptoms, safety measures, and steps to take in case of an attack of the virus on the site. Click here to access the dashboard.

This is a great initiative as it can help our government to make effective decisions to stop the spread of the deadly disease and lower the curve of Coronavirus cases. But it will only be successful with public help. So make sure to share it with your friends and family to gather as much district data as possible.

If you have any queries related to the use of collected data or anything else, feel free to contact the team lead, Dr. Umair Hashmi, at 0344-5167725.
