ISLAMABAD: Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif, a renowned Pakistani academic and a former lieutenant general of the Pakistan Army, has been formally appointed as the rector of NUST.
Mr. Latif has a Ph.D. in diplomacy, many master’s degrees, and extensive experience in military diplomacy, conflict resolution, and South Asian politics. He is a renowned graduate of distinguished universities, including National Defence University, Command and Staff College, and Peking University.
In addition to his extensive background in state-of-the-art technology and the military industry, he is a three-star general who has retired and served as the Federal Secretary of Military Production. Additionally, Dr. Zahid has the privilege of speaking at colleges and think tanks in China, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In addition to his current position as a Senior Fellow at the esteemed Taihe Institute in China, he has previously served as a Senior Research Fellow at Beijing Foreign Studies University in China.
