Facebook has recently announced a series of partnerships with auto dealership listing sites to make it easier to buy and sell vehicles on its Marketplace platform.
Since the launch of Marketplace in October 2016, Facebook has seen a huge boost in car listings, with the platform already featuring a dedicated vehicles category that lets you search using year, model, mileage, and price.
Facebook is dedicating a complete section of Marketplace for Vehicles. This dedicated section for vehicle buying and selling includes full dealerships inventories and contact support of direct dealer. The direct and unique conversation between buyers and sellers has been increased up to 77% in past six months.

Facebook Marketplace will now comprise of inventory listings from Edmunds, Cars.com, Auction123, CDK Global and SocialDealer. Facebook has no intention to charge on transactions but it will publish ads within Marketplace. There will be no problem for the dealership to pay for those ads if they could get a buyer.
According to Facebook’s Product Manager Bowen Pan,
“Autos are one of the most popular categories of Marketplace. Millions of people in the US alone are looking at used cars, motorbikes, and other vehicle listings every day.”
Currently, the feature is only available in the US. But, Facebook says it’s working on other features (such as jobs, tickets, event, and home rentals) for other European Countries. The availability of this feature in Pakistan is not expected in near future, while Facebook might expand the reach of this feature in Asian countries after its complete rollout.
Facebook has a balanced and multi-dimensional approach to provide facilities for both corporates and the public. Recently, Facebook also tested 4K videos feature to upload and watch high-quality videos on its platform.
