Nokia introduces MIKA, first ever digital assistant for telecom industry

Nokia has created MIKA – Multi-purpose Intuitive Knowledge Assistant – digital assistant customized for the improving the efficiency of engineers and telecommunication operators.

MIKA provides voice-dictated automated assistance that will reduce the time spent searching for information resources in complex multi-technology environments, hence increasing telecom operators’ efficiency.

MIKA is the first ever digital assistant specifically trained for engineers in telecom industry. It will provide critical information instantly, hence saving about an hour of productive work daily. Igor Leprince, head of Global Services at Nokia, said,

“Finding the right information is a daily challenge for telco engineers tasked with boosting network quality. MIKA taps into the power of the Nokia AVA platform to provide quick and accurate answers, avoiding time wasted on fruitless searches. MIKA is customized to support the specific needs of telecoms, and can deliver recommendations based on experience from networks around the world.”

MIKA combines augmented intelligence with automated learning. It provides access to various tools and data sources which include the Nokia AVA knowledge library, a repository of best practice gathered from Nokia projects around the world.

MIKA will be available via a web interface and mobile agent so that it is accessible to engineers everywhere.

MIKA is currently available for trials, and will be revealed at Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona between February 27 and March 2.
