HMD Global, the home of Nokia smartphones, has unveiled its latest flagship. Nokia 9 PureView comes with an astounding 5 lens setup at the back.
Introduced during the Mobile World Congress event which started yesterday at Barcelona in Spain, Nokia 9 PureView is a limited edition smartphone that comes with a set of 5 lenses for its rear camera as we had previously been hearing.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset on Android version 9, the smartphone packs 6GB of RAM. Nokia has used 2K OLED display panel on the front that spans over 5.99 inches and the glass, on the front and back, is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Definitely, the most talked-about department on the new smartphone is its camera. The f/1.8, 28mm Penta-lens setup consists of three 12-megapixel monochrome lenses and two 12-megapixel RGB lenses. Whenever an image is shot, each of these lenses works at different exposure levels to store different details. The details as captured through different lenses are then combined using a camera control chip from Light to produce a single 12 MP photo. The depth details are also stored with the image so that the users are able to set the blur at different depths even after the image has been shot.
That’s not it, Nokia has tried to engage in partnerships to perfect the camera experience on this smartphone. For instance, Nokia has partnered with Adobe Lightroom. Lightroom has generated presets specifically for the images produced by the smartphone which could be applied to further fine-tune the results. Nokia has also partnered with Google Photos. Now, the users would be able to adjust the focal blur on the photos even after they have uploaded the photos on the cloud.
Once made available in the markets, the smartphone would bear a price tag of $699. This price translates to PKR 97,000, although we aren’t quite sure when the smartphone would be made available in Pakistan.
