After unveiling the smartphone in global market last month, HMD Global has finally launched its most affordable smartphone in Pakistan.
Powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Nokia 2 features a 5-inch LTPS HD display and comes with 8MP of rear and 5MP of front camera. The smartphone has been placed in the low price range with a price tag of Rs. 11,340. This smartphone has specifically been manufactured for lengthy usages. HMD is heavily marketing the massive 4,100 mAh battery that comes with it saying that it easily lasts two days.
Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, says, “With the Nokia 2, we wanted to replicate the unique Android experience we’ve delivered so far with the long-lasting battery which so many fans associate and expect from their Nokia phones. To make this a reality, every component of the Nokia 2- from the display to battery, chipset to system design – has been engineered to draw as little power as possible from the huge battery to give fans a long-lasting phone they can rely on.”
As far as the rest of the specifications of this smartphone are concerned, the smartphone screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass while the set itself is encapsulated in an aluminum frame. The LTE-enabled smartphone has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can further be expanded to 128GB with the help of a microSD card.
Nokia has already established its name when it comes to providing super-fast Android updates. Android-powered Nokia smartphones, as released by HMD Global, come with stock Android-like skins which aren’t too heavily loaded. This helps Nokia in releasing the next Android updates for these smartphones within no time. The Nokia 2 smartphone comes with Android Nougat and HMD has said that its update for Android Oreo will also be rolled out soon.
The smartphone would be available in Pewter/Black, Pewter/White and Copper/Black colors and will go on retail via Advance Telecom for a price tag of PKR 11,430, starting today. You can see the complete specifications of this smartphone here.
