Recently Google rolled out the brand new Nexus 5 that too without any official announcements. Well this is quite strange for any Gadget release but now that it’s out in the wild, let’s find out what’s new in there.
Yeah, the specs are very average, but considering its decent price it’s not a bad combination either. Let’s give you a little deeper insight to Nexus 5 by moving on to the details.
Nexus phones are generally not so good in term of cameras, but this time LG really worked on this particular aspect. They have added an optical image stabilization feature that lets you take pretty sharp pictures even with shaky hands.
The interface is quite cool this time, Android KitKat 4.4 is the ice on the topping. Scrolling is faster, fonts look sharper. Emoji icons have been added to the new keyboard. There are no more widgets to worry about and a translucent search bar sits at the top of each app’s page. So fire up a game or open an e-book, and the UI goes away altogether, all new with a simple yet great Launcher.
As for voice search, it’s now called up automatically when you say, “OK, Google”. Google claims there is a 20% improvement in voice recognition than last year which seems to be true as the interface allows you to correct any misheard words and actually asks for clarification if needed.
Now the Hangout app is the default SMS app and you can easily send and receive text messages again with an amazingly cool interface.
And the dialer? Well, it not only searches the phone memory but also search the number in the Google database which is an all new feature in the smart phones.
Now, let’s talk about the Android’s latest version Android 4.4 Kitkat.
Nexus 5 comes with Android 4.4 Kitkat; the new and improved Android version offers some really nice updates.
But the best thing about Android 4.4 Kitkat is that it runs quite smoothly even on lower-end devices (only needs 512 MB of RAM to run). But that doesn’t mean that all devices with 512 Ram will get 4.4. Obviously it depends upon the manufacturer if they want to offer the update or not.
