New Fortnite Update adds Creative Mode

Starting December 13, Fortnite players will be able to create their own games and their own maps in the newly announced creative mode.
Players can buy the battle pass for season 7 and get access to new items like new skins and get early access to the creative mode. The mode was announced on The Game Awards show after it was leaked by a YouTuber earlier.

Creative mode is already being considered as one of the biggest updates Fortnite has ever received and should allow it to push its popularity even further. Creative mode allows players to make maps like they want to and play on them with their friends. It also allows players to create new game mode with their own rules. The reveal video showed games that were totally different from anything we have ever seen in Fortnite.

Players can also collaborate with their friends when playing the new creative mode. They also use new camera features to record cinematic videos. Here are some of the dos and don’ts of the new mode:

Fortnite Creative Mode rules

Epic Games has set out a code of conduct for fans to follow if they wish to be part of the Creative Mode fun, this includes:

  • Respect other players. Be kind when creating and editing with others. Discriminatory language, hate speech, threats, spam, and other forms of harassment or illegal behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Keep account information safe and private. Giving access to your account puts you at risk. Do not share your account information or the account information of others.

Apart from these rules, here are some things which are prohibited in Creative Mode:

  • Engage in hate speech, threats, spam, harassment, discriminatory or illegal behavior.
  • Be overly commercial or spammy.
  • Create or display any pornographic content in association with Fortnite.
  • Violate any copyright or trademark of Epic Games or any other third party.
  • Promote or engage in gambling associated with Fortnite.
  • Participate in any action which, in the sole and exclusive judgment of Epic Games, defrauds the game or any other player.

If the EPIC likes your game or map, it will be added to a new place called the Block by EPIC themselves. This gives gamers a lot more incentive to participate in the new game mode.

Games like Minecraft have been so successful due to their creative freedom and enthusiastic fan base and while Fortnite has had an enthusiastic fanbase, creative freedom was missing. The new Creative Mode fixes that. In fact, we are already seeing players replicating popular game maps like Nuketown from Call of Duty in Fortnite.

EPIC is expected to push more aggressively with Fortnite now that they have even stopped development of Unreal Tournament reboot. Expect to see more patches and features as time passes. For more on Fortnite, stay tuned to TechJuice.
