Negative Social Media Posts Impacting Pakistani Visa Applications, Says UAE Consul General

The Consul General of the UAE in Karachi, Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi, has revealed that many Pakistanis are facing challenges related to visa processes for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which can be due to negative social media activities.

Alremeithi also stated that “there have been recent complaints about the conduct of certain Pakistani social media influencers in the UAE, especially on platforms like TikTok. This behavior has led to dissatisfaction from the UAE government, resulting in stricter visa regulations that have raised concerns for Pakistani travelers.”

In a recent interview, he encouraged Pakistanis to prioritize cultural representation and positive engagement, as negative social media postings can have far-reaching consequences.

He urged people to respect other countries’ regulations and culture as “there is complaint of people bashing about these on social media.”

Additionally, Alremeithi guaranteed that the UAE government is actively monitoring social media, advising individuals to exercise caution in its use, as it could result in severe repercussions.

He asserted that the UAE has a history of assisting Pakistan during difficult periods, thereby strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

“Recently, there have been issues highlighted on social media regarding qualifications and recognition of degrees. Many Pakistani professionals in sectors like banking and healthcare have original degrees from Pakistan but face challenges with attestation,” encouraging people to come to the UAE consul for attestation.

“I urge focus on education and health sectors, as there are many chances for Pakistanis to excel,” he said.
