At IDEAS 2024, the renowned international defense exhibition held biennially in Karachi, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) showcased its state-of-the-art biometric technologies. This is the first time the organization has ever participated in the event, and it shows that it wants to establish Pakistan as a leader in digital identification solutions.
The National Radio and Telecom Corporation (NRTC) and NADRA Technologies Limited collaborated to develop a range of innovative biometric devices produced locally and showcased at NADRA’s exhibit. Among the innovations demonstrated were portable and lightweight gadgets specifically designed to enable the seamless verification of identity in remote locations.
Lightweight systems enable fast and efficient citizen registration. Advanced devices leverage non-invasive technology to enhance accuracy and security in identity verification. User-friendly tools empower individuals to independently manage their registration and verification processes.
These solutions have been developed with an emphasis on affordability, security, usability, and durability. They are suitable for various uses, including national ID systems, border control, and simplified public service delivery.
Both domestic and foreign delegates showed keen interest in the showcased technologies, with many asking about possible applications in other fields. Participants from more than 50 nations continue to flock to IDEAS 2024, a platform that brings together defense manufacturers and innovators from across the globe. The participation of NADRA at the event showcases Pakistan’s achievements in domestic technology and creates opportunities for global partnerships in the biometrics field.
