NADRA Launches Mobile App Following Closure of Pakistan ID Website

ISLAMABAD: Mohsin Naqvi, the Federal Minister of Interior, has ordered the permanent shutdown of the Pak ID website, which offers NADRA-related services, effective from January 17.

The minister has decided to replace the website with the NADRA mobile app so that customers can access better and safer services.

Naqvi elaborated that the website was not user-friendly, especially for Pakistanis residing abroad who were trying to upload fingerprints and other necessary documentation.

In addition, he brought attention to the fact that individuals engaging in fraudulent activities were trying to use citizens’ personal information for their own gain by facilitating the fabrication of false identity documents through bogus websites. Starting on January 17, the website will be unavailable in an effort to stop these actions.

According to him, these fraudulent actions have been closely monitored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior. Action is being taken against these elements by NADRA and other institutions.

He spoke about how the mobile app has been substantially enhanced to deliver better services.

According to Naqvi, citizens will be able to complete all paperwork procedures from the comfort of their own homes using the mobile app, which will have all services available. These services include ID cards, NICOP, POC, B-form, and FRC.

Gwadar, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan will each have their own regional centre, according to Mohsin Naqvi.

The new regional offices are scheduled to launch by March 31st. The installation of these offices will increase communication between NADRA staff and citizens, as well as service delivery in rural areas.
