Mri Machine Stolen From Ayub Teaching Hospital In Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD: An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) machine was reportedly stolen from the Ayub Teaching Hospital in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as per reports released on Friday.

According to sources, the hospital complex allegedly lacked sufficient space to accommodate the machine, though this issue has not been adequately addressed by the hospital administration.

In response to the theft, hospital officials have been summoned to appear before the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly’s standing committee, which has taken notice of the incident. However, the hospital’s upper management failed to attend the committee meeting.

The matter has raised concerns about possible corruption, as official records indicated the MRI machine’s procurement, despite it never being actually acquired.

MRI is a non-invasive imaging technique used to create detailed three-dimensional images of the human body, which aids in diagnosing, detecting, and monitoring various diseases.
