Motorola Razr could be coming back with $1,500 price tag

Motorola, the parent company of Razr, could be considering relaunching the famous Razr phone.

According to a new report from The Wall Street Journal, Lenovo, the parent company of Motorola, could be considering giving a new life to the famous Razr phone from the 2000s. The report if comes to life would see Motorola Razr developed into the company’s first smartphone with a foldable screen. A patent brought forward through GSMArena, also points towards one such smartphone.

The report mentions that the OEM company is working with Verizon in the US to develop this product. The smartphone would be released in February next month. If realized, only 200,000 units of the nostalgia-filled smartphone would be made. Each unit of the smartphone could cost a whole lot of money; $1,500 to be exact.

Looking at the price-tag and from the foldable screen option that the smartphone has, Motorola Razr would be a premium looking smartphone from Motorola. The smartphone could even precedent a new flagship series for Motorola which is otherwise having a difficult time as compared to the other big giants.

It seems that the form-factors for the smartphone would now be shifting towards bendable displays. Samsung is also expected to launch one such device at its main event next month.
