More than 56 million Pakistani use 3G/4G network

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) announced a new ranking of 3G and 4G users in Pakistan. According to a new report, the number of 3G and 4G subscribers in Pakistan has reached the mark of 56.08 million by the end of June 2018.

However, the number of mobile phone users in Pakistan reached 150.23 million by the end of June 2018 compared to the 150.32 by end of May 2018, a decrease of 0.084 million observed by PTA.

If you look at the individual mobile network count then Jazz is a top-notch telecom operator and its total count for 3G users stood at 14.83 million by end of June compared to 14.82 million by end of May, marking an increase of 0.01 million. Jazz 4G user numbers spiked from 4,035817 by end May 2018 to 4,376,394 by end June 2018.

Meanwhile, Zong 3G subscribers decreased from 9.383 million compared to the end of May when there were 9.267 users, while the number of 4G users jumped from 7,086,529 by end of May to 7,353,105 by end of June.

The number of 3G users of Telenor network decreased from 10.764 million by the end of May 2018 to 10.511 million by June. The number of 4G users jumped from 2,925,219 by end of May to 3,115,119 by end of June.

Ufone raised 0.18 million 3G users on its network during the month of June.T he total number of Ufone users reached 6.630 million by end of June 2018 as compared to 6.45 million by end of May.

On the same note, teledensity for cellular mobile connections decreased to 72.81 per cent when compared to 73.28 per cent during the end of May. Broadband subscribers reached 58,339,814 by end June of 2018, compared to 57,743,904 by end of May.

The telecom sector of Pakistan has undergone through huge transformations after the arrival of 3G and 4G services in the country. However, the Pakistani government is going to introduce 5G technology as well that will be at least 100 times faster than the speed of 4G technology. The government has finally allowed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to let telcos conduct 5G trials in Pakistan.
