Internet in Pakistan is increasing rapidly this year. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that the 3G/4G users had crossed the range of 47 Million in Pakistan.
The number of 3G/4G users has increased one Million, as compared to the statistics of last month.
Mobile usage had become larger with the surge in popularity of smartphones. Interestingly, the number of mobile phone users reached 143 Million mark, in October 2017. However, these number of users will expand until the end of 2017.
From the four telecom operators of Pakistan, Jazz is the top-notch telecom operator having 53.5 Million users. Telenor Pakistan has 41.2 Million users followed by Zong with 29.8 Million users. However, Ufone is at the bottom of the list with only 18.8 Million users.
When it comes to broadband subscribers, there are total 50 Million users in the country. Zong is leading all the telecom operators providing the best 4G services in Pakistan. Only, Ufone doesn’t have the license to 4G technology in Pakistan.
Jazz is leading the other telcos companies in the race of 3G technology in Pakistan.
All the telecom operators providing the mobile broadband services have added a massive increase in the subscriber’s rate in Pakistan. However, the reports from the Open signal have recently revealed that 4G LTE speeds are declining globally and Pakistan has been ranked at the bottom of the list.
This report poses a question mark on Pakistan’s IT and Telecom regulators and network providers that they must expand their efforts to boost 4G/LTE services in Pakistan.
