With the entrepreneurship scene heating up in Pakistan, there are a lot of people with experience coming forward to start their own ventures to help the up and coming crop of startups in Pakistan.
One such news comes today, when, Ehtisham Rao, Head of Digital Business at Mobilink resigned to fully focus on his own ventures. He is a founding partner at Serendipity, a tech accelerator that helps companies get funded and scale globally. On a personal scale, Ehtisham has been mentoring startups for fund raising for a while.
According to the accelerator website, there are already three startups registered including Ehtisham’s own startup, Servup. Servup is a platform for Telecoms to transform as digital service providers. KissanBook is crop lifecycle management platform for small-scale farmers. GoGhoom is an online booking portal offering a differentiated experience for Pakistan-bound travelers.
The accelerator will help startups in business and technology integration, innovation in business model, valuation and funding, and networking opportunities.
At Mobilink, Ehtisham had a successful professional stint of over 12 years and he is widely regarded as a telecom expert, both in Pakistan and abroad.
While talking to TechJuice, he said,
“There is never a right time to go full time on your startup, the best time is now and that is what I am doing by giving my investors and shareholders confidence about my belief in Servup”.
There is no information on website for the next batch of acceleration program but, the first batch has already been inducted as of 1st January, 2016. Just a while ago, Telenor Pakistan also launched a digital accelerator for startups in Pakistan with selection of 8 startups from different business programs in their network.
