The successor to the Xiaomi Redmi Pro, the Pro 2 is a very good option for anyone looking for a simple smartphone and is mainly interested in a contained screen and at an affordable price. Available in the same price bracket as Infinix S2 Pro, it holds its own when compared to the competition. Redmi 2 Pro is available in Dual SIM version, which could mean a determining characteristic of the user.
The Redmi Pro 2 belongs to the segment of “more affordable” phones, so the company neither risked premium materials nor a sophisticated design, but rather stuck with the basics. Small curves at each of its corners, a frame with a slight inclination to hold it more comfortably, a completely smooth rear and a front with large frames – the bottom houses the navigation buttons, so there are no buttons on the screen.
The 5.5” inch Redmi Pro 2 screen is made with an IPS LCD panel and resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. With such resolution and size, we have a more than the respectable density of 312 pixels per inch. The panel has outstanding performance: it has good color reproduction and the viewing angles are wide. The brightness of the panel must be highlighted as the maximum figure remains at approximately 550 nits, making it easy to use outdoors, especially in the sunlight
Turning to the performance section, a chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad – core 1.2 GHz with 64 – bit architecture, 2GB RAM, and Adreno 306 GPU is found in Pro 2. In general, we have a good performance. With hardware designed for mid-range and good software optimization – despite having a somewhat old version of Android – the system moves smoothly in any type of situation. In the storage section, we have 16GB of internal memory. Of course, this is not a problem knowing that we can use a microSD card up to 64GB. It has a 2200 mAh battery, with the possibility of extraction.
The Redmi Pro 2 flaunts an amazing 12mega pixel primary camera with features likes phase detection, touch focus, auto focus, smile detection, HDR, panorama, Geo-tagging and 1080 video recording. The secondary camera also allows you to take quality selfies along with the fun videos.
