Minister Instructs SUPARCO to Develop Business Plan for PakSat-MM1

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, has directed the chairman of the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) to develop a comprehensive business plan for the PakSat-MM1 satellite. This initiative aims to optimize the satellite’s potential and align its operations with strategic economic and technological objectives.

Muhammad Yousaf Khan, Chairman of Suparco, met with Federal Minister Iqbal in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The discussion focused on a number of important initiatives, including the commercialization of the recently launched PakSat-MM1 satellite and advances in agricultural monitoring technologies.

The federal minister gave Suparco strict instructions to create a detailed commercial strategy for PakSat-MM1 at the meeting. He stressed the importance of working with the Ministry of IT to develop a comprehensive plan for the marketing of the satellite in order to reap its full benefits.

The chairman of Suparco informed the minister about the organization’s initiatives in contemporary agricultural monitoring, which are assisting farmers in achieving higher crop yields.

In order to gather consolidated data, Iqbal ordered the Suparco staff to work with the Land Information and Management System. Additionally, he emphasized the significance of bolstering partnerships with other organizations to maximize the use of GIS and satellite remote sensing for better business operations.

The minister also reaffirmed earlier intentions to hold a conference at the Institute of Space Technology later this month with the theme “Uraan Pakistan.” “Beyond the Stars, New Worlds Await” is the title of the symposium, and its purpose is to draw attention to new possibilities for space research and exploration.
