Microsoft has launched its AI-powered “Support Virtual Agent” chatbot for Xbox Insiders in the U.S., designed to help users efficiently resolve gaming support issues.
This inventive chatbot, which animates responses as a character or colorful Xbox orb, is available at support.xbox.com. Megha Dudani, senior product manager at Xbox, underscored the significance of user feedback during this testing phase to improve the chatbot’s functionality.
“We value the feedback from Xbox Insiders for this preview experience and any feedback received will be used to improve the Support Virtual Agent,” stated Xbox senior product manager lead, Megha Dudani.
The Xbox chatbot is currently being implemented for a limited number of Xbox Insiders in the United States. The Support Virtual Agent can be previewed by users who have selected English as their preferred language, according to the company.
The AI chatbot “Support Virtual Agent” is available on the “Contact Us” tab on the Xbox support website. Users can register with their Microsoft account, in case they use the same one with Xbox Insider Program.
By clicking on “Ask a question,” users will see the Support Virtual Agent launch in a new browser window. However, if the Support Virtual Agent fails to resolve the issue, users can also request to speak with a live support agent.
This chatbot coincides with Microsoft’s ongoing plans to fundamentally apply AI throughout the Xbox ecosystem, with forthcoming features incorporating AI in gameplay content generation and management covering generated assets and NPCs in cooperation with Inworld.
As Microsoft continues to grow its AI capabilities, the Support Virtual Agent represents a significant step toward enhancing user experience within the Xbox ecosystem.
