Microsoft Employees Slept In Data Centers During Pandemic Lockdown

When it comes to ‘dedication’ it seems Microsoft employees just simply take it to the next level. According to one of Microsoft’s executives, most of the employees slept in the company’s data centers during the rising peak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Although numerous tech giant companies like Amazon, Twitter, and Google had declared the ‘Work From Home (WFH)’ method however some employees were so vital to these companies that they had to literally live in the company.

According to Kristen Roby Dimlow, Corporate Vice President for total rewards, performance, and human resources business insights:
“I heard amazing stories about people actually sleeping in data centers. In certain countries, there was huge lockdown, and so we would have our own employees choose to sleep in the data center because they were worried they’d get stuck at a roadblock, trying to go home.”

It is to be noted, on the funny side, that data centers are not the best places to sleep due to the hot air coming from the servers and the air conditioning that cools the servers from overheating yet still the company’s employees spends days and nights at the center.

However, employees were allowed to work from home if they felt anxious about working at data centers.
